Flat Track Roller Derby
About Us
Pikes Peak Roller Derby (PPRD) is a flat-track roller derby league based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, founded in 2005 as the Pikes Peak Derby Dames. As a 501(c)(7) nonprofit sports organization, PPRD is entirely member- and volunteer-operated. We are a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the sport’s international governing body.
Mission Statement
Pikes Peak Roller Derby’s mission is to foster athleticism, personal empowerment, and community relationships through playing and promoting the fast-paced, hard-hitting, competitive sport of flat track roller derby. Pikes Peak Roller Derby provides an equal opportunity for athletes of all skill levels and abilities to succeed by discovering strengths, overcoming weaknesses, and challenging themselves, both on and off the track.
Team Structure
Pikes Peak Roller Derby (PPRD) consists of five teams: three home teams and two travel teams, supported by dedicated officials and volunteers.
Travel Teams
The All-Stars and Slamazons are PPRD’s elite WFTDA charter travel teams, proudly representing the league and the Colorado Springs community in high-level competition both at home and on the road. Made up of our top-performing skaters, these teams compete in WFTDA-sanctioned games that shape international rankings and determine tournament eligibility—showcasing the skill, athleticism, and competitive spirit that define PPRD on the global stage.
Home Teams
Pikes Peak Roller Derby’s home teams—the Candy Vipers, Buzz Kills, and Royal Infernos—bring the excitement to Colorado Springs with fast‑paced competition against each other and against visiting leagues. Every PPRD skater is drafted to one of these dynamic teams and, once they pass PPRD’s rigorous skills assessments, they’re cleared to hit the track in front of live crowds and represent their team with pride.
Officiating Staff & Volunteers
PPRD thrives thanks to the hard work of our officials, both skating and non-skating, along with photographers, EMTs, announcers, and other invaluable volunteers. Their support is essential to our league’s success, and we’re deeply grateful for all they do!
